ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT EMBALMERS

The association of independent embalmers was formed and made into a limited company in the early part of 2006.

The aim of the association and objectives were:

To provide support
Create a non political atmosphere
Encourage continual professional development
Provide an international network (overseas practitioners welcome)
Research

Encourage unqualified embalmers to take appropriate study/training
For embalmers qualified/unqualified working outside the co-operative and dignity groups of business.

Code of professional practice

  • Protect confidential information
  • Work in a competent, appropriate and respectful manner
  • Ethical obligation to care for each deceased person
  • Ensure remains are adequately covered at all times
  • Care for each person with the highest respect and dignity
  • Allow authorized personnel present during the preparation only
  • Adequate knowledge of chemicals/fluids being used in practice
  • Keep adequate records of cases treated
  • Not to engage in any unprofessional conduct
  • Promote/support the Association of Independent Embalmers
  • Display certificate of membership
