ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT EMBALMERS
The association of independent embalmers was formed and made into a limited company in the early part of 2006.
The aim of the association and objectives were:
To provide support
Create a non political atmosphere
Encourage continual professional development
Provide an international network (overseas practitioners welcome)
Research
Encourage unqualified embalmers to take appropriate study/training
For embalmers qualified/unqualified working outside the co-operative and dignity groups of business.
Code of professional practice
- Protect confidential information
- Work in a competent, appropriate and respectful manner
- Ethical obligation to care for each deceased person
- Ensure remains are adequately covered at all times
- Care for each person with the highest respect and dignity
- Allow authorized personnel present during the preparation only
- Adequate knowledge of chemicals/fluids being used in practice
- Keep adequate records of cases treated
- Not to engage in any unprofessional conduct
- Promote/support the Association of Independent Embalmers
- Display certificate of membership
